I understand you have an RCA analog nest box camera which will be connected to TV probably and you want to upgrade to IP based bird box camera.

The tiny bird box camera is not waterproof. You will need to seal the roof and keep the camera out of the rain completely. The 3M tape is a good solution. The one designed for automobiles. You can find the reference in our nest box page. Not only the camera, but also the pigtail connector must be protected.

The next thing I would recommend you add the surge protector next to your camera. If you choose the IP PoE bird box camera, you should pick a PoE surge protector, otherwise it is the DC12V surge protector you need.https://www.fastcabling.com/product-category/poe-surge-protector/

According to your description, I would suggest using a PLC adapter to extend your network signal over the power line outdoor. Next you can wire Ethernet cable from the nest box to the PLC receiver. I think the WiFi signal will be too weak for the cameras.
